Figments from the peculiar imagination of me, Grace Pastore.
Copywriter by day. Offbeat illustrator and printmaker by night.
Drawing from history, pop culture, and personal memories, I create relief prints that aim to be a feast for the eyes—landscapes of information and nostalgia. Each design is illustrated, carved, and printed in my tiny Fremont apartment…a scale that’s reflected in my artistic approach! After transferring line illustrations to linoleum and other block materials, I spend days carving with micro palm tools to achieve highly detailed designs. Before cutting a block's smooth surface, I establish a composition of negative and positive space, ensuring the finished print has appeal close up and from a distance.
I hope that anyone who glances or lingers enjoys exploring my tiny worlds.
